The “Innocence of Muslims” And The Hypocrisy of Non-Muslims

The spate of racist anti-Muslim/pro-Israel ads that have sprung up throughout New York’s subways have been widely condemned but permitted  on on the grounds of freedom of speech.  The ads which had previously appeared in San Francisco were taken out by the American Freedom Defense Initative (AFDI) who are spearheaded by notorious Islam-bashers Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, who had personal contact with Morris Sadek, the Egyptian-Copt behind the “Innocence of Muslims” film.

However, “freedom of speech” for all it’s unquestionable merits has been abused by the gatekeepers to villify “the savage” and “support the civilized man”  – the Arab/Muslims semitic cousins.

Case in point being the contrast between the courts acceptance to display Spencer and Geller’s hate-filled message in the public transport system with an anti-Israel ads which were to appear in King County with the tagline “Israeli war crimes, your tax dollars at work”. The respective judges ruling on:

Anti-Islam Ad:

The judge, Paul A. Engelmayer of Federal District Court, ruled that the rejected ad was “not only protected speech — it is core political speech,”

The Court also determined that in light of the undisputed facts regarding the purpose of the forum and the factual basis for King County’s application of its policy in this case, King County’s decision to cancel the SeaMAC Ad was both reasonable and viewpoint-neutral.

Charlie Hebdo and The Sine Affair

The hypocrisy on display is undeniable though far from unique and not exclusive to the USA.  Another to pour fuel onto the flames of the already raging inferno of Islamic-Western tension was the French Magazine Charlie Hebdo who decided to run provocative cartoons of a turbaned, naked Mohammed.

The magazine defended it’s right to publish the caricatures on the grounds of “freedom”

He says nothing wrong has been done, and that his magazine has not infringed French law, as a publication has the right to use the freedom to run critical or satirical cartoons.

The French magazine clearly has the freedom and desire to insult Muslims yet the same “freedom” evidently didn’t apply when the criticism is focused on Jews.

Maurice Siné had been a contributor to Charlie Hebdo for  twenty years when in 2008 he published an “anti-semitic” comment in his satirical column suggesting that Jean Sarkozy, the son of the former French President was set to convert to Judaism prior to his marriage to his fiance; a Jewish heiress, to improve his career prospects.

Sine was then ordered to apologise by the magazine but he refused and was duly sacked.  The Guardian reported:

The piece was published without controversy – until several days later, when a radio presenter referred to it as anti-Semitic. The families of those concerned were said to be ‘sickened’. Val, who took the controversial decision to re-publish a Danish newspaper’s cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed two years ago in the name of freedom of the press, agreed that the piece was offensive and told its author to apologise.

Siné refused, saying he would rather ‘cut his own nuts off’ and was, more or less, fired. Cue outrage, argument, counter argument, argument. Was the original statement anti-Semitic? For Val, there was no doubt. Siné’s statements, he said last week, ‘could be interpreted as making a link between conversion to Judaism and social success’ and that they spread the old stereotype associating Jews and money.

Max Blumenthal, Death Threats and The Hypocrisy of Google.

Proving that Islam is not uniquely prone to violence Sine, 79, was targeted with death threats by the terrorist outfit the Jewish Defense League (JDL).  Who threatened:

Another to receive death threats was Jewish journalist/filmmaker Max Blumenthal who received numerous death threats for being a “self-hating Jew” after producing a film critical of the attitudes of Israelis.

Blumenthal’s film went the way of  The Palestinian Media Watch who had their account banned for “hatespeech”  while Blumenthal’s film was banned from Youtube due to “innapropriate content”.

And Google/Youtube’s response to the “hatespeech” and innapropriate content” contained in the Innocence of Muslims trailer?

They denied a White House request to take down the film – all in the name of “freedom” of course.

A final example of the hypocrisy at work is the original spark in 2006 of the Mohammed cartoons hysteria; that of the 12 cartoons published in Danish newspaper the Jyllands-Posten including the infamous image of Mohammed with a bomb in his turban.  They were the brainchild of editor Flemming Rose, a keen admirer of leading Islamophobe Daniel Pipes.

The newspaper again defended it’s decision to publish the highly offensive images to Muslims on the grounds of “freedom” yet the very same hypocrisy was exposed when it was revealed that in 2003 they refused to publish satirical cartoons of Jesus on the basis that they were offensive to Christians and later in 2006 they point-blank refused to publish satirical cartoon relating to the Holocaust.

While freedom of speech  is an absolute requirement of every truly open, free and just society it is also a double-edged sword.  A sword that is only sharpened on one side to hack at Muslims while the other is intentionally left blunt.

Sadek’s vision of the dissolution of Egypt into five states

On the third of September one of the central figures behind “Innocence of Muslims” also released a statement on the National American Coptic Assembly website calling for the balkanisation of Egypt into five states one of these being a Coptic state with Alexandria as it’s capital.

It was released by Morris Sadek, who incidentally would become the new state’s Vice President.  Sadek is an extremist, Coptic-Zionist who is denonunced by mainstream Copts in Egypt as an anti-Islam fanatic who dishonestly pushes his extremist agenda. However, in the US Sadek, has forged alliances in his anti-Islamic crusade with the lunatic fringes of the Christian-right and the Zionist-funded anti-Islam propogandists such as Brigitte Gabriel of ACT! For America and Robert Spencer of Jihadwatch.

 

A September 1st Arabic news article suggested that there are moves afoot in Egypt to charge Sadek and his Coptic co-conspirators for treason.

So it may come as no suprise that Sadek’s vision for the Middle-East neatly parallells “The Zionist Plan For The Middle-East”  The following is a section from a report written in 1982 by Oded Yinon who worked The Foriegn Ministry of Israel and was published by The World Zionist Organisation:

Syria will fall apart, in accordance with its ethnic and religious structure, into several states such as in present day Lebanon, so that there will be a Shi’ite Alawi state along its coast, a Sunni state in the Aleppo area, another Sunni state in Damascus hostile to its northern neighbor, and the Druzes who will set up a state

Steve Klein Fired From Courageous Christians United For “reprehensible” Film

Rob Sivulka,President of Courageous Christians United (CCU) has moved to distance himself from Steve Klein and his anti-Islamic film and has had him unvceremoniously dumped from the CCU board.  Sivulka claims the film “served primarily to evoke a violent response”

We at Courageous Christians United (CCU) had no knowledge of the film “The Innocence of Muslims” or Steve Klein’s involvement in it until September 12, 2012.  Steve was removed from the board of CCU as of September 14, 2012 because of his involvement in this film.  As the founder of CCU, Steve was an honorary board member, but he has never been to any of our board meetings.  In 2006, when I wanted to form my own non-profit corporation, Steve gave me CCU, which he was no longer using.

Steve was in no way acting on behalf of our mission organization in the production of the video.  While both Steve and the film maker have a right to express their views, that doesn’t mean that we here at CCU endorse this movie as a good means to convey the truth about Islam.  In fact, we find this film reprehensible and irresponsible, and serving primarily to provoke a violent response.

Media for Christ

Media for Christ received its non-profit designation with the IRS in 2009 and is described in the filings as follows.

By telling them the truth about the dangerous doctrines of Islam and the and wicked practices of Mohammad we are protecting our children.” Cass, former executive director of James Kennedy’s Reclaiming America for Christ, co-founded the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission with General William S. Hollis. Projects have included a series of videos titled “Seven Reasons Barack Obama is not a Christian.” The advisory board includes Matt Staver, Rick Scarborough, Lou Sheldon, Dick Bott, Ted Baehr, Don Wildmon, Leslee Unruh, and other Religious Right luminaries. Cass is one of the “Broadcast Celebrities of The Third Rail, along with Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin, Larry Pratt, and other “veteran patriots.”

Focus in on talking points that Bat Ye’or articulated in a recent interview with Pamela Geller:

Ground Zero is a war memorial, a burial ground – sacred to the American people
Mosque supporters say the mosque is intended to show good will, but Americans wouldn’t destroy the cemeteries of soldiers in Europe in order to show good will toward the Germans
A mosque at Ground Zero shows a lack of consideration for the victims and their families
The people are against the mosque. The government must listen to the demand of the people
The mosque organizers should respect the feelings of the nation and the memories of the families
This mosque will be an icon in the Islamic world for the global jihad
9/11 has become a symbolic date to accuse the West of Islamophobia – it has been subverted. In the same way, the mosque will stand for the jihad
We should ask the Muslim group for mutual respect and mutual understanding. Muslims cannot put a mosque on top of Ground Zero the way they put a mosque on the top of the Temple Mount. That is how this mosque is perceived, and people have to be sensitive to that.

Man behind anti-Islam film reportedly is Egyptian-born ex-con

Updated 1:36 a.m. ET: A 55-year-old Egypt-born Coptic Christian man living in the Los Angeles area was a key figure behind the anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims,” blamed for sparking riots and protests in the Middle East, a federal law enforcement official told NBC News Thursday.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, who is on probation after being convicted of financial crimes, also was twice sentenced to jail on drug charges in the late 1990s, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said.

Court records show that Nakoula was convicted on federal fraud charges in Los Angeles in 2010. Among the conditions of his probation, Nakoula was barred from using “any online service at any location” without the prior approval of his probation officer, according to a copy of court records in the case.

Meanwhile The Daily Kos suggests that the incompetent Nakoula is the fall guy and the “keyman” is actually fellow Copt Joseph Nasrallah,

Joseph Nassralla and Media for Christ (M4C) applied for the filming permit for Desert Warrior (per San Gabriel Valley media sources).  M4C has IRS non-profit status and files 990 returns. The 2011 return shows a budget of 1 million dollars, and assets that could be used to produce the film.

The film used Hollywood forms: Casting Calls, Permits, SAG categorization.  The film used modern green screen techniques, and sound editing and overdubs.

The Media for Christ (aka ATVSat.com ) website is a video blog production.  Klein and others use it for their platforms.

Nassralla knows how to roll a production.  There is no evidence that the incompetent Nakoula has any experience — his indictment for  check kiting schemes makes clear that he was not sophisticated in avoiding detection or recognition.

Joseph Nassralla has a very deep media trail, mostly on account of his featured roles in the various Pamela Geller promoted anti-Mosque events in New York City.  SEE: http://rainoutreachtv.com/…

The author then goes on to speculate that The Innocence of Muslims could be the work of the professional Islamophobe network of Pipes, Geller and Spencer.

I think it is not beyond speculation to think that the NYC-based  English speaking anti-Islamic  clique of Geller , Robert Spencer, Daniel Pipes commissioned the “Desert Warrior” project.  The movie was made in English (and likely for an American audience)  and the overdubbing to Arabic appears to be a second thought.
